Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit's 'considering Detroit' exhibition catalog design and production installation on-site. Photos by Corine Vermeulen.

"This catalog design, concept and production are influenced by Ford’s assembly line manufacturing processes, integrated with contemporary “print-on-demand” (POD) practices. Detroit’s roots as an industrial city create a unique conceptual opportunity for the considering Detroit catalog design to explore on-site production possibilities. Notably, the museum building’s former life as an automobile showroom emphasizes the relationship of a location to production. Utilizing both historically systematic aspects of Fordism and the improvised nature of POD printing, a hybrid of the two processes is formed ... Each version builds on the content of the last, culminating in a comprehensive overview. The three editions are meant to serve as both a documentation of the show and a record of the design process." – excerpt from the catalog
